OUR SITES

Outdoor Learning Site

Set within the stunning grounds of Courtway Farm, the Inclusive Pathways Education Workshop provides a rich, hands-on environment where young people can build practical and vocational skills while preparing for adulthood and independent living. Our fully equipped workshop is designed to inspire confidence and creativity. With a wide range of power and hand tools, bespoke handmade workbenches, and an extensive selection of materials and resources, young people can take part in a variety of projects including Design & Technology, construction, and vehicle maintenance and repair. This supportive setting enables learners to develop, practise, and refine real-world skills, preparing them for future pathways such as apprenticeships, work experience, and employment.

Beyond the workshop, young people also benefit from spending time with our friendly on-site animals, including dogs, pygmy goats, and horses. We recognise the positive impact that working with animals can have on well-being, confidence, and engagement, and dedicated time is built into sessions to nurture these connections.

To further support independence, the workshop also includes a kitchenette for developing cooking skills, along with washing facilities and on-site toilets. Together, these elements create a welcoming, purposeful space where young people can grow, learn, and thrive.

Forest School

Our Forest School area is divided into two sections, a fully covered fire pit where young people can learn the art of whittling, fire lighting, tool use and nature crafts and a more open area where we are developing living structures. Here, students can undertake nature walks and identify different creatures and plants all whilst being able to explore and immerse yourself in the natural environment. We are currently in the process of putting in a pond so that marine, reptile and aquatic plant life cycles can also be investigated.

A key component of sessions here and in all of our provisions is to reflect on what has been done during the day and how we have been able to engage with and enjoy/ benefit from the activities we have undertaken.

Our forest school site provides a vital, nurturing space where young people can connect with nature, build confidence, and develop important life skills through hands-on, experiential learning. In a calm, outdoor environment, they are encouraged to take risks, solve problems, and express themselves freely—fostering resilience, independence, and emotional well-being in ways that traditional settings often can’t.
