Set in the beautiful woodlands of Escot Park, the Workshop Provision of Inclusive Pathways Education offers a multitude of opportunities for young people to develop their practical and vocational skills as well as enhancing their preparation for adulthood & independent living.

The main part of the site is the Workshop itself which is fully kitted out with tools handmade workbench and a variety of necessary materials and resources to undertake a variety of projects including: DT, Construction, Vehicle maintenance, and Repair activities along with a generously sized horticulture space that is also currently in development. The area has been cleared and prepared for large raised beds, perfect for year-round seasonal planting!

Some other extras on site:

Outdoor cooking facilities in the form of charcoal and wood fired barbecues for preparing meals, a fire pit that can be used as a breakout space or a place to sit and enjoy lunch in the peaceful surroundings, a physical exercise area for young people who have extra energy to burn off and washing facilities & toilets on site.

Our Forest School area is divided into two sections, a tarpaulin covered fire pit where young people can learn the art of whittling, fire lighting, tool use and nature crafts and a more open area where we are developing living structures can undertake nature walks and identifying different creatures and plants all whilst being able to explore and immerse yourself in the natural environment.

A key component of sessions here and in all of our provisions is to reflect on what has been done during the day and how we have been able to engage with and enjoy/ benefit from the activities we have undertaken.

Our forest school site provides a vital, nurturing space where young people can connect with nature, build confidence, and develop important life skills through hands-on, experiential learning. In a calm, outdoor environment, they are encouraged to take risks, solve problems, and express themselves freely—fostering resilience, independence, and emotional well-being in ways that traditional settings often can’t.

We have been very fortunate to be able to partner with St Andrew’s Church Hall in Taunton to be able to offer a fully equipped kitchen space as part of our provision offer. This space will enable all young people to either develop and enhance their existing skills in the kitchen, or for those that have no experience whatsoever to start to enjoy the process of handling and making food in a safe and supported environment. Alongside the practical aspects of cooking, Food Safety and Hygiene Standards training certification can be undertaken in order to ensure that a rounded understanding of what is needed to be safe in the kitchen can be achieved by all!
